We have successfully used smoke testing to prove missing radon barriers and air paths through building structures to demonstrate heat loss and fire spread potential in a number of legal cases.
We have successfully used smoke testing to prove missing radon barriers and air paths through building structures to demonstrate heat loss and fire spread potential in a number of legal cases.
The test is carried out in conjunction with air tightness testing and thermal imaging to give increased evidential weight to breaches of building regulations and other technical standards.
In November 2023 we were tasked with smoke testing an aircraft hangar for IAC in Spain. This required filling the building, approximately 200,000m³, with smoke to a density of around 3m visibility to test the ventilation system.
We also carried out an air tightness test on the building.
